ABOUT TOM KOSINSKI

My name is Tom Kosinski and I have worked in the Pesticide industry for over 20 years. This is a brief background of my experience:

• B.S. from Virginia Tech (’84) in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) considered by industry and EPA as the most cutting edge pest management approach regarding pesticide use and pest/host management.
   
• My career spans over 13 years in environmental protection and in agriculture. My governmental experience has allowed me to regulate pesticides in several regions of the United States (New Jersey and Colorado). I have direct experience with all types of pesticide related complaint investigations. I have investigated, processed, evaluated and prosecuted numerous pesticide related investigations both in Colorado and in New Jersey. This wide variety of experience has provided me with extensive knowledge on pesticide modes of action, and the corresponding biological reactions that occur in the field from pesticide exposures.
   
• I was recently the New Program Development and Training Specialist for Swingle Tree & Lawn Care, Colorado’s largest privately owned plant health care company. I developed two new programs for Swingle including a structural perimeter pest control program and mosquito control program. I was responsible for the re-development, implementation and instruction of pesticide applicator classroom and on the job training for Structural, Turf and Ornamental, Public Health and Right-of-Way categories. I also developed, researched, and authored the Lawn Technician Training Manual for use in the on-going training program for Lawn Dept Applicator Technicians.
   
• I also possess extensive field experience as a licensed pesticide applicator in Colorado and in Arizona.
   
• My hobbies are Home-brewing, Camping, Fishing and Hunting. I am a commercial brewer at the Boiler Room Brewery in the Colorado Belle Casino and a certified BJCP beer judge. I have won many medals and awards for my special homebrewed beers.
